"Spring is in the air"

Hello, and welcome to the 'spring fling' Feng Shui e-newsletter! This month I give you timely 'spring chore' list to do! And, share some of
the best 'veggie' restaurants in OKC. And of course recycling tips and Feng Shui tip of the month.

My schedule for April is packed. I have received a lot of e-mails asking for a list of my classes and the dates. So, here they are:

Cuisine of India: Tuesday April 3rd. 6:30-9;30p.m. This is a vegetarian class.
Feng Shui : Tuesday April 10th 7:00-9:00 p.m.
Get out of Debt and accumulate wealth: Mon. April16th 7:00-9:00p.m.
*This is a new class!*
Numerology : Tuesday April 24th 7:00-9:00 p.m.

All these classes will be held at Francis Tuttle at the Rockwell campus. Please enroll early, since these courses fill up quickly. I do believe you can enroll on line now for these courses. I hope to see old friends and make some new friends. Please pass on this schedule to your friends.

A new feature

Since I am a vegetarian, I am often asked "What do you eat?" My simple answer---Vegetables! But, I think in a meat eating society people can't imagine eating a side dish type food, as a main food. So, I thought I would share my "finds'" in this city. Some of you may wish to sample these really good veggie choices. From time to time I will share my gold star* restaurants. My friend Jill found this restaurant. It's on May just south of Wilshire on the west side of the street. It's called Cafe Allegro. They have a great tasting spinach and cheese pie. Also, just plain cheese pies too. They also have several meat dishes for all you carnivores out there!
Try it, it's a family owned business and they could use new clients.

Spring chore list

So many of us forget that the garage is part of our home also. It is included in the Feng Shui map of the home. My garage is in dire need of clearing and sorting...alas yes, even a Feng Shui consultant is guilty of having clutter! Start clearing one corner of the garage and do not deviate from that spot until all items have found a home they can reside in comfortably. Set a timer for 15- 30 minutes, this will allow you to take a break and not feel overwhelmed. Always return to the spot where you started so you can complete the task ahead of you.

Since the windows to our home are the 'eyes' we look out at the world with, it's important to keep them clean. This is a good time of the year to open up the windows, clean them and let in some fresh air at the same time. The air in our homes becomes stagnant after a long winter, letting malaise set in. So, open up the windows and revitalize the energy in your home.

The three R's

If you don't have a blue bin to recycle with, call the city of OKC, and they will deliver one to your door step. It's a convenient way to recycle glass, aluminum, paper, newspaper, telephone books and cans. Cleaning your windows with ammonia and newspaper not only recycles the paper but it also saves you money by using inexpensive ammonia to clean with. We really don't need the blue windex for a streak free shine! Baking soda is a great way to clean your sinks, you can add some lemon for a fresh clean scent.

Feng Shui tip of the month.

Since we need to clean out our garages, *( me more than anyone else). It's always a good idea to let in some fresh air into your garage as well. Too often we close the garage door and the fumes from the cars linger in that space. These fumes need to escape. So, leave the door up for a few minutes. But, please do remember to close the door for safety sake.

I am leaving for Portland Oregon to visit my son and daughter in law. I'll be back just in time to start teaching. I look forward to seeing some of you in the classes in April. And, please remember if you have any questions about cooking, Feng Shui or numerology, feel free to send me an e-mail.

Enjoy spring-- it's finally here!
